Grants & Links

The Fuelstretcher is listed on the ECA's Energy Technology List. This qualifies it for a variety of grants and other financial help from the government and its agencies.

Enhanced Capital Allowance

Enhanced Capital Allowances (ECAs) enable a business to claim 100% first-year capital allowances on their spending on qualifying plant and machinery, including the Fuelstretcher. More information is available at http://www.eca.gov.uk.

Energy Efficiency Commitment

Under the Energy Efficiency Commitment (EEC), electricity and gas suppliers are required to achieve targets for the promotion of improvements in domestic energy efficiency. The EEC will contribute to the Climate Change Programme by cutting greenhouse gas emissions. This scheme is run by Ofgem and the Fuelstretcher technology can qualify for grants when installed in residential homes etc. See http://www.defra.gov.uk/environment/energy/eec/ for more information.

Energy Efficiency Levy (Northern Ireland)

A similar scheme to the EEC operating in Northern Ireland. The qualification criteria are slightly wider than the EEC and, for instance, include schools. See http://ofreg.nics.gov.uk/index.html for more information.

Carbon Trust Energy Efficiency Loans

If you are a Small or Medium sized Enterprise (SME), the Carbon Trust can lend you £5,000 to £50,000 interest free and unsecured to improve your energy efficiency. Charities, trusts and other 'not for profit' organisations can be considered for these loans. See http://www.carbontrust.co.uk/energy/takingaction/loans.htm, or for Scotland see http://www.energy-efficiency.org/howto/help/loan/index.html.

Other Loans and Grants

There are many other local loan and grant schemes, normally administered by Local Government authorities. Each local Authority has an Energy Efficiency advice office or group. Their contact details can normally be found via the main exchange or by looking up their web site. It is worth enquiring to find out if there is anything that would help your purchase. Fuelstretcher Ltd will always give you assistance in investigating or qualifying for a loan or grant.
